This analogy is a good one. I believe we have found a "battleship" church.
I especially like the part about the equipped crew and the captain answering to a higher authority. I can imagine a church full of people, fully equipped to do the will of God, and a pastor, fervently listening for direction. As the Holy Spirit lays the orders on their hearts like 2 Corinthians 3:3 says He will, they are ready to respond. They are not running off half-cocked, accomplishing nothing (John 15:5). But are rather ready to move when He says move.
